About Me

I began this blog and the campaign to expose the truths and the lies I found in my own battles with Anorexia and Bulimia, along with compulsive exercise.

I am nearly 20 years old, and I had anorexia from the time I was 16 until I was 18. My battle with bulimia started about halfway through my eating disorder journey. These things used to define me, and they are no longer who I am.

Firstly, I define myself as a Christian. I realize a lot of people will probably disagree with the message on my blog. That doesn’t bother me. I’m not trying to make converts. I’m a Christian because it was Jesus who saved me from myself and my eating disorder and a plethora of other griefs.

Today I have been free from my eating disorders for over a year. I’m not anorexic or bulimic, I’m also not fat. I am joyful. I am free. I am beautiful. I am me.

  1. Congratulations! I look forward to follow your blog. I have a blog that talks about my own experiences with an eating disorder http://www.laurasusanneyochelson.com and am always interested in hearing what other people think/sharing experiences. Best of luck!

    Merry,

I was really touched by your recent guest post on Hannah’s blog about making skinny the new god, etc. I’m looking to expand my online magazine to include other Christian content, among them some more serious issues… would you be interested in writing a short article for me on dealing with anorexia and breaking free of it for me, for our Jan/Feb issue? (I would need it Jan 17th.)

Please, if you are interested, drop me a line through my website (www.charitysplace.com). I don’t want to leave my email here in case of spam robots. =)

Either way, God bless your endeavors. Keep up the good work!

    – Charity

Been looking for a good Christian site/blogger who campaigns against “thinspiration” for years and finally found one! Thank you for doing what you’re doing, you inspire all of us who fight alongside you. I’m a 19 year old Senior who struggled with anorexia for awhile, and still struggles with seeing myself as God sees me. I do my best to help others learn to love themselves, but i know it’s God who really does it. So again, thank you for being fighting, and thank you for being a true Christian.
    God bless.
